Arthur Henry Geitz (1874-1961) was born in St. Louis and graduated from Missouri Medical College in 1895. Geitz served as a clinical assistant, and later as an instructor in "minor surgery and bandaging" at St. John's Hospital, which became affiliated with the Medical Department of Washington University in 1899 when Missouri Medical College merged with St. Louis Medical College. Geitz taught and practiced medicine in St. Louis until 1910, when he moved to Rockaway Park, Queens, New York. Geitz later moved to Monterrey, Mexico, where he died in 1961.
