Typed caption below the photograph reads: "Photograph of Electron Microscope developed in Department of Cytology. Like the cathode ray oscillogrpah this instrument makes use of a beam of accelerated electrons in an evacuated tube. The electron beam either originates from the tissue minerals or traverses a section of tissue and is focused by a series of magnetic lenses. The image is produced by the focused electron beam striking a fluorescent screen. The screen is either viewed directly or photographed. High magnifications are obtainable because of the extremely short wave-length of the electron."

A photograph of the scroll being presented to the library was published in the Summer 1968 issue of Outlook Magazine. The scroll was presented to Estelle Brodman by Koji Nagao, who spent four months in the WUSM Library as a China Medical Board Fellow, studying medical library methods.

Item VC198043: Framed newspaper advertisements and an admission ticket to the execution of William Rudolph in Union Missouri., 1903-1905Add to your cart.
The admission ticket is for a Mr. Aetheide and is signed by Louis H. Gehler, the Sheriff of Franklin County. The execution took place on May 8, 1905. The two newspaper advertisements are for Falmouth Pure Whiskey (handwritten label next to the whiskey advertisement reads: "St. Louis Star, Feb. 23, 1903." The other advertisement is for men and women's clothing made by the National Co-Operative Mercantile Association. It is undated but may be from the same issue of the St. Louis Star.
