Biographical/Historical Note

Rodney Hunt, born in 1871, attended Rush Medical College (then affiliated with Lake Forest University) and graduated in 1897. He practiced medicine in Oak Park, Illinois (1120 Lake Street) and Chicago, Illinois (209 S. State Street). He died circa 1940.

Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection includes approximately 40 surgical instruments originally belonging to Dr. Rodney Hunt. It also includes his medical school diploma (dated 1897) and two olive drab zippered canvas bags approximately 12 x 8 inches.
