The experience of organizing the Fourth International Cancer Congress convinced EVC and others that regular consultations between scientists across national lines was essential for progress against the disease. As noted for Series 10, the meeting in 1947 established an International Cancer Research Commission, on which EVC served as the United States representative until 1954. The numerous contacts abroad continued with great frequency until the end of his official university service, as documented in this series. Alphabetical arrangement by country.
