Biographical history

Lee Fetter was president of St. Louis Children's Hospital from 2002 until 2018. He earned his undergraduate degree at St. Louis University and a master's degree in higher education administration/finance at Harvard University. Fetter served as executive director of the Health & Educational Facilities Authority of the State of Missouri and as director of planning of St. Louis University School of Medicine. In 1983 he joined Washington University as the chief financial officer of the School of Medicine. In 1990 he became associate vice chancellor for administration and finance, and chief operating officer of the Faculty Practice Plan at Washington University School of Medicine until his appointment as president of Children’s Hospital. Fetter also served as president of Health Partners of the Midwest commercial Health Maintenance Organization in 2000.
