Biographical history

Debra Ann “Debbie” McDonnell is associate professor of emergency medicine in medicine, of orthopaedic surgery, and of physical therapy. After working at the University of Southern Illinois-Carbondale as a physical therapy assistant, she joined the staff of the Irene Walter Johnson Institute of Rehabilitation in 1985. In 1987 she entered the Program in Physical Therapy as a baccalaureate student. In 1990 she graduated with the BS in physical therapy and a MS in physical therapy. She earned her DPT at Washington University in 2005.
