The item is bound in black library buckram, 11 x 14 inches. Printed in gilt lettering on the cover: Staff Register, St. Louis Children's Hospital. It was evidently planned by the hospital management as a sign-in book for all medical staff. Each page of the volume has columns for entry of dates, names, addresses, college, degree, year, medical school, graduation year, service, and an unspecified column. The first entries contain the names of senior attendings of 1915, and in the left column a much later hand (probably 1950s) has entered death dates for some of those physicians. By 1920, judging from entries in the unspecified column, virtually all persons signing in were interns and residents. The last entry is dated 08-25-1970. Accession 1987-010.
