Florence Terry Jones, daughter of Carroll West Jones and Hugh McKittrick Jones, was born in St. Louis on June 9, 1907. She was a specialist in rehabilitative nursing. Her father was an investment banker and later mayor of Ladue, Mo. She attended Mary Institute and Vassar College in their class of 1929. She received her degree in nursing from Washington University. On June 30, 1934, she was featured in a article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch as she was about to begin her internship, the last phase of training at the St. Louis School of Occupational Therapy. The internship was at New York Hospital, and she went on to be chief nurse of the Institute of Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine of New York." Florence Jones married Charles S. Terry on May 18, 1953 in St. Louis. .She co-authored the book, Principles and Technics of Rehabilitation Nursing (St. Louis: Mosby, 1957). Florence Jones Terry died December 19, 1982 at the age of 75.
