This collection consists of 6 drawings depicting portraits of notable physicians from the 16th to the 20th centuries. These portraits were published as art supplements to the German Medical Weekly, and gathered to create the Bildersammlung aus der Geschichte der Medizin, or the Picture Collection from the History of Medicine.

The hearing devices in the collection range from small hand-held trumpet type devices; long rubber conversation tubes that allow for the user to hold one end to their ear and the other end directly to the speaker’s mouth; large London-dome shaped devices; animal horns; acoustic fans; walking sticks; a leather and metal device manufactured to resemble a water canteen; telescopic devices that could be discreetly folded within a pocket; headpieces for women; beard receptacles for men; the first electronic hearing device model; devices that resemble radios or cameras; devices hidden within barrettes and eyeglasses; early cochlear implant models, and many more. There are very few duplicate devices with many representing the only known extant models in existence.

Vilray P. Blair Photographs and Drawings

This collection consists of 85 photographs and drawings documenting a range of subjects in the personal and professional life of Dr. Vilray P. Blair (1871-1955). The collection includes photographs of Blair, his family and colleauges, and his residence in Florissant, Missouri. Other depicted subjects from Blair's professional career include his operating room at Barnes Hospital specially decorated by artist Gisella Loeffler (1900-1977), his plaster cast shop, and a selection of his plastic surgery patients. Several of the patient photographs appear in Dr. Blair's published papers, including: "The Surgical Restoration of the Lining of the Mouth" (1923), "The Full Thickness Skin Graft" (1924), and "The Problem of Bringing Forward the Retracted Upper Lip and Nose" (1926).

This collection consists of 137 photographs and drawings documenting the years Benjamin H. Charles spent serving as a major for the 21st General Hospital during World War II. The collection includes photographs of Charles, fellow hospital staff and other military personnel, and German prisoners of war (POWs) at various locations in France, Germany, Italy, Morocco, and Algeria. The collection also includes watercolors depicting Charles and various scenes from Bou Hanifia, Algeria by German POW Walter Köhnlein, as well as several promissory notes and a Taittinger champagne label.
