This collection consists of 629 photographs, negatives, and glass lantern slides chronicling the life and career of E.V. Cowdry. The majority of the photographs are scenes from Cowdry's professional travels in China, India, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, and South Africa. The glass lantern slides specifically depict scenes from Cowdry's travels in China.

Depicted subjects include group portraits of Barnes Hospital staff and the Clinical Society of Genito-Urinary Surgeons, composite portraits that include Cordonnier, and scenes from the East London Hospital for Children. The slides depict silverware, serving dishes, and furniture, likely items that belonged to Cordonnier.

The certificate is an In Memorium honorific for Hanau W. Loeb.

This collection consists of 11 photographs and certificates from the professional career of Robert E. Shank, including certificates of appreciation from the National Advisory, Child Health and Human Development Council and The Council for Agricultural Science and Technology. This collection consists of 276 photographs, certificates, medallions, and surgical instruments. Photographs include single and group portraits of Carl F. Cori at various stages of his career, scenes from receptions and events where Cori spoke or received honors, and photographs of Carl and Gerty Cori in their laboratory. The collection includes the 1947 Nobel Prize Medal for Physiology or Medicine awarded to Carl Cori, Nobel Prize certificate (VC143236), and an official reproduction of the Nobel Prize medallion (VC143237).

The collection consists of an unbound typescript manuscript, "History of dermatology in St. Louis, Missouri" (1973, 274 leaves) and a later bound version of the manuscript, "Dermatology and Dermatologists in St. Louis" ([1984], 372 leaves). The earlier version contains photographs, letters, clippings, and other documents. Both versions are indexed. Included are histories of the Barnard Free Skin and Cancer Hospital, the Barnes Hospital dermatology staff, and the St. Louis Dermatological Society, and biographical information about 19th and 20th century St. Louis dermatologists.

This collecion consists of 566 photographs, negatives, slides, certificates, and artifacts that document the professional life of Mildred Trotter. Depicted subjects include portraits of Trotter from childhood and throughout her career, portraits of colleagues, and former students, as well as group portraits of Trotter at various class reunions from Mount Holyoke College and Washington University School of Medicine. Other significant subjects in this collection include: various views of Mulago Hospital in Kampala, Uganda, where Trotter spent a term teaching at Makerere University College; photographs from Trotter's work with the U.S. Army Graves Registration Service at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii; and trips to China, Taiwan, and Antarctica.

This collection consists of 85 photographs documenting the personal and professional life of Henry G. Schwartz. Many of the images in the collection are digital surrogates of the the original photographs that primarily depict scenes with Schwartz and other men and women serving as United States Army officers in World War II. Additional digital images depict two young boys playing outside and posing on the steps of a house. The other photographs in the collection are primarily portraits of friends and colleagues of Schwartz, including Carl and Gerty Cori, Joseph Erlanger, Ernest Sachs, Sidney I. Schwab, and Evarts A. Graham. Those photographs (VC102069-084) are also arranged and described as Series 5 in the Henry G. Schwartz Papers (FC112).

This collection consists of 126 photographs and certificates documenting the career of Virginia Minnich. Depicted subjects include class photographs of students at Washington University School of Medicine, portraits of Virignia Minnich as a young woman when she was Vilray P. Blair's patient, and scenes from Thailand, Turkey, and WUSM.

Bernard Becker papers acquired by rare book librarian in Rare Book Accession 2008-001 and accessioned as Archives Accession 2010-004:
1) One bound volume of congratulatory letters given to Dr. Becker on the occasion of his 25th anniversary as chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, April 27th, 1979.

2) Two 5x7 inch silver gelatin photographs of the staff of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, the first dated circa 1954, the second dated circa 1979.
3) One pamphlet for the occasion of the 25th anniversary including a list of contributors toward an endowment fund in honor of Bernard Becker, April 27th, 1979.

This collection consists of ninety-five 35mm slides, including some duplicated or variant images, produced from archival and private sources for a show honoring the Class of 1944, 1993-94. Many of the images are duplicates of those found in other visual collections.

Experience, ed. by Claude H. Organ and Margaret Kosiba (1987).

Two of the photographs depict Washington University Medical Center buildings, including the Library and a view of Barnes Hospital and Queeny Tower from Forest Park.
