Gertrude Hance was an artist employed by plastic surgeons Vilray P. Blair and James Barrett Brown. She was housed in an office on the 3rd floor of the North Building, and was Mildred Trotter's first friend in St. Louis - see Trotter's "The Department of Anatomy in my time", a narrative history of the WUSM Department of Anatomy, written in 1979 (FC029, Series 1, Box 1, Folder 2, p. 20).
