This collection consists of 166 photographs and negatives, primarily photographs depicting group and composite portraits of classes from the Washington University School of Dental Medicine from 1890 to 1991. In addition to the photographs, there are also a small number of negatives depicting exterior views of the School of Dental Medicine building at 4559 Scott Avenue.

Early records on research include correspondence and laboratory and specimen notebooks, ca. 1955-1975. Later papers consist of correspondence, photos, NIH and tobacco grants, patents, lecture slides, reprints (including correspondence), newspaper articles, files on meetings, appointment calendars, reprints, and books.

The Lee Robins Papers consist of twelve organizational series on Lee Robins' research and her family.  The research studies (Series 1) and Interview schedules (Series 2) are the most noteworthy materials and the bulk of the collection.   Also included are family and professional photographs (Series 5), a full set of journal articles (Series 3), and her correspondence (Series 6-8) and manuscripts (Series 4) from her retirement.  Noteworthy in the biographical series (Series 9-10) are the SCRD oral history interviews with Lee Robins (also online) and typed interviews for a biography of Eli Robins.

This collection includes items related to The Jewish Hospital of St. Louis. From early community attempts to raise funds for a Jewish hospital; to the hospital’s construction at sites on Delmar Boulevard (completed in 1902), and later, on Kingshighway Boulevard (completed in 1926); and continuing up to and beyond its merger with Barnes Hospital in 1996, the history of Jewish Hospital is documented in a variety of material formats. The collection includes hospital statistics; correspondence; scrapbooks; newspaper and magazine clippings; VHS and cassette tapes; photographs; artifacts; hospital publications; administrative records; and staff biographical files. Also included are the files of multiple subsidiary and associated hospital organizations.  Of note is a set of key organizational documents for Jewish Hospital covering the years 1878-1977 ( series 11, sub-series 1); three large scrapbooks documenting hospital events and occurrences of the years 1927-1958 (series 5); and the collection of hospital publications ( series 9, sub-series 3), which includes serial magazines and annual reports of the hospital. Also of interest are the partial contents of the Delmar Boulevard hospital building’s 1901 cornerstone _(series 2, sub-series 1)and a collection of files documenting the 1962 hepatitis outbreak at Jewish Hospital (series 2, sub-series 2)._

This collection includes items related to Barnes Hospital. From the bequest which funded the creation of the hospital; to the hospital’s opening at the end of 1914; and continuing up to and beyond its merger with Jewish Hospital in 1996, the history of Barnes Hospital is documented in a variety of material formats. The collection includes administrative records; staff correspondence; hospital publications; newspaper and magazine clippings; scrapbooks; photographs; VHS tapes; and artifacts. Of note is the collection of hospital publications (series 4), which includes serial magazines and annual reports of the hospital, as well as ephemera such as brochures and flyers. Also noteworthy is the hospital superintendent’s correspondence collection (series 3) covering the years 1913-1926; the hospital’s book of forms from the year of its opening (series 1); a scrapbook containing correspondence of Robert A. Barnes and the original trustees of Barnes Hospital (series 8); and the Hospital's Staff Register covering October 13, 1915 to January 13, 1958 (series 5).

This small collection includes a presentation Dr. Hudgens gave during the Psychiatry Department grand rounds on October 24, 2000, titled "On the shoulders of giants, a tribute to Samuel B. Guze". An additional accession includes various items related to the School of Medicine student musical "New Facies of 1955" that was organized by the WUSM Class of 1956. Items include three 33 1/3 vinyl records recorded on April 16, 1955, a photograph of Dr. Hudgens singing during the musical, and song lyrics that have been edited by Dr. Hudgens. This collection also includes a brief typed description of Dr. Hudgens experience as a medical student at WUSM (1952-1956) written by Dr. Hudgens.

This collection consists of 20 photographs, 2 buttons, and 3 proclamations highlighting the scientific achievements of Carl F. and Gerty T. Cori. The photographs primarily depict the Coris in laboratory settings or receiving honors and awards. The buttons were created to commemorate Gerty T. Cori's life and scientific achievements, and the proclamations are from the City of Glendale, MO; the City of St. Louis, MO; and the State of Missouri marking October 23rd as Gerty and Carl Cori day.

157 Photographs, drawings, portraits, group portraits and silhouettes of 4 generations of the Baumgarten family. Subjects include the Frederick Ernst Baumgarten house and farm, the Gustav and Aminda Baumgarten house, civil war pictures of Gustav Baumgarten in uniform with other soldiers during the American Civil War.

This collection consists of 4 photographs from annual Philip A. Shaffer lectures, including a group portrait with Shaffer at the first annual lecture, and a proof sheet of images from the 10th annual lecture.

This collection consists of 10 photographs, 1 course card, and 1 architectural drawing from Saint Louis Medical College and Missouri Dental College. The photographs are bound in a booklet; there are three copies of the booklet in this collection.

This collection consists of 8 drawings, photographs, and artifacts from Andrew B. Jones. The photographs are group portraits of Barnes Hospital staff and Washington University School of Medicine faculty, the drawings depict the human peripheral nervous system, and the artifact is a human skull used by Jones for anatomical study.

This collection consists of 7 photographs and artifacts from the life and career of Leo Loeb, including two photographs of his grandniece and nephew, three award medallions, a pin, and a painted ceramic bust of Loeb.

This collection consists of 6 photographs of Lauren V. Ackerman, including two photographs with Juan Rosai.

This collection consists of 3 photographs and 1 certificate from the Nu Sigma Nu fraternity. The photographs are all group portraits from 1930-1932, and the certificate is the original Washington Unviersity St. Louis chapter charter from 1900.
