Nash discusses growing up in Atlanta as the child of a successful African-American physician father and music teacher mother. She relates some of her experiences attending Meharry Medical College in the early 1940s and coming to St. Louis for her internship and residency at Homer G. Phillips Hospital. Nash discusses establishing and running a successful solo pediatric practice and the racism and sexism she faced during her professional career. She also discusses her mentor, Park J. Washington University School of Dental Medicine Memorial Room Photographs. The Memorial Room is located in the main entrances to the Biotechnology Center Building, formerly the Washington Unversity School of Dentistry 1927 building and the Carlyn H. Wohl Research Center 1961 addition. VC349001 through VC349014 were taken in May 1994, at the time of the installation of a six panel historical exhibit on the WU School of Dental Medicine, and show the original installation of the exhibit as well as the original location of 8 bas relief plaques featuring early deans of the dental school. Copy negatives of images used in the exhibit are also included. VC349015 through VC349033 were taken in July 2015 and detail the individual bas relief plaques as well as the condition of the six panels of the historical exhibit. 33 Photographs.

Guze discusses his experience as a student of the Washington University School of Medicine in the early 1940s, and his memories of faculty members such as Carl and Gerty Cori, Mildred Trotter, Ethel Ronzoni Bishop, Joseph Erlanger, Barry Wood, Evarts A. Graham, Helen Tredway Graham, Sarah Luse, and Carl Moore. Guze explains how his interest in the field of psychiatry developed and the influence of George Saslow on his career. He also discusses building the psychiatry program at Washington University with his colleagues Eli Robins and George Winokur, his work on the genetics of psychiatric disorders, and the interest and development of child psychiatry as a discipline within the medical school. Colleagues such as M. Kenton King. Virginia Weldon, Paula J. Clayton, Lee Robins, and James Anthony are discussed. This oral history consists of a series of seven interviews conducted in 1994. The interviews were transcribed and edited by the interviewer, Marion Hunt, in 1994. The transcription was corrected and annotated by the interviewee in 1995. Interviewed by Marion Hunt in 1994.
