The presentation includes short statements by Mildred Trotter, Philip Needleman, and Paul E. Lacy, and announces the first major joint research agreement between Washington University School of Medicine and the Monsanto Company.

This collection consists of 60 lithographic prints that primarily duplicate those found in Köhler's Medizinal-Pflanzen in naturgetreuen Abbildungen mit kurz erläuterndem Texte : Atlas zur Pharmacopoea germanica, austriaca, belgica, danica, helvetica, hungarica, rossica, suecica, neerlandica, British pharmacopoeia, zum Codex medicamentarius, sowie zur Pharmacopoeia of the United States of America. In some cases, there are differences between the prints in VC186 and the published plates.
The collection consists of approximately 2 million 4x6 inch negatives and accompanying descriptive 3x5 inch index cards. A great percentage of the images are text, graphs, and simple illustrative material meant to accompany lectures and presentations. Some are histology or x-ray imagery generated in research or to accompany patient records. Some are photographs of patients documenting their condition for their records or for clinical and pathological lectures. A smaller percentage of images are staff ID portraits or photographs of buildings and facilities. The collection is in the process of being weeded to retain historically relevant images and descriptive cards.

This collection consists of 64 photographs, drawings, certificates, and artifacts from the medical and military career of Thomas H. Burford. Photographs include group portraits with friends and colleagues and portraits of Evarts A. Graham. Drawings are by F.C. Kelly and depict surgical proceedures. Certificates include diplomas, awards, military appointment and discharge certificates, proclamations, certificates of appreciation, and in memorium certificates. Artifacts include a key to the city of Vicennes, Indiana, foreign currency collected during Burford's overseas military service during World War II, and a Society of Thoracic Surgery felt badge.
