Autobiographical narrative by Davis recorded on six standard cassette tapes, most likely duplicated off of original reel tapes. Each cassette tape is labeled with a reel number. Each cassette box has the handwritten title “Hallowell Davis Memoirs.” Davis is speaking with a unidentified male interviewer, though notes indicate the interviewer may be Dr. Allen L. Cudworth working in connection with the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America. The year is unknown. At the beginning of Reel 5, Side A, the interviewer mentions the day is May 26th. Cudworth was named a fellow with the Acoustical Society of America in 1979. Cassette tapes are housed with RG002 Becker Medical Library Records, oral history control files, original cassette recordings Box A-L.

Awards Master File, 1942-1981.

Lee D. Cady's own description of this series is as follows:  "These recommendations for awards, in their composite, record the overseas activities of an outstanding general hospital unit made up of civilian soldiery. These copies of recommendations came from the commanding officers files and are true copy.  Some comments have been added here and there, sometimes casual, sometimes caustic which reflect the former commanding officer's feelings as he saw and understood things then and since." The file begins with background on arms forces decorations and awards from Legion Magazine, April 1961 and the Veteran's Newsletter, February 1955. A list of the awards received by the members of the unit, 1949-1969 follows. The volume is arranged alphabetically by the person nominated and contains correspondence, photos, clippings, and unit questionnaires concerning awards. Content is similar in arrangement to Files on Personnel, Outstanding Individuals (Series 12, Subseries 1). However, the awards master file chronicles collective success rather than individual triumphs. Documents are bound together in a single volume.
