This collection consists of 48 35mm Kodachrome slides representing a series of 45 oil paintings commissioned by Parke, Davis and Company and painted by Robert A Thom. The series was titled "Great Moments in Medicine." In addition to this collection of slides, there are two oversized portfolio versions of this series; one bound copy and one unbound copy.

Certificates in this collection include a memorial resolution and a birthday certificate from Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, a St. Louis Award certificate, and a Testimonial of Appreciation from The International Congress on the Education of the Deaf. All advertisements in the collection are for hearing devices, primarily those manufactured by F.C. Rein & Son.

Many of the photographs and all of the negatives depict unidentified men and women at meetings, conferences, and parties. Photographs also include group portraits with Ben H. Senturia, including groups at conferences, Senturia with classmates, and group portraits of Barnes Hospital medical staff. Artifacts include two human skulls, and a medal for a nasal speculum designed by Senturia.

This collection consists of 15 photographs of Robert J. Glaser, 1920?-1965 and 23 drawings by Aphrodite J. Hofsommer, 1929-1939?. Photographs include group portraits of the Harvard University Lancet Club, views from a Boston City Hospital Centennial and Thorndike Memorial Laboratory 40th anniversary event, views of the Streptococcal Clinic at Washington University School of Medicine, and scenes from a dinner party with Glaser and Arthur Kornberg. The drawings were created by Aphrodite J. Hofsommer for publications by Drs. Ernest Sachs, Meyer Wiener, Bennet Y. Alvis, Ellis Fischel, and others, in the 1920s and 1930s.

Photographs depict Smith, her family, and her colleagues at Washington University School of Medicine,  views of Smith's laboratory and mosquito specimens, and microscopic images of various research specimens. The collection also includes sketches and drawings Smith made as she traveled; most of the sketches depict architecture in Bavaria, Germany. Finally, this collection also includes certificates and awards presented to Smith throughout her career, including a sterling silver tray in recognition of her selection by the St. Louis Globe-Democrat as a Woman of Achievement in Science.

Photographs primarily include portraits of Bishop at work and at home, as well as group portraits of men and women attendees at annual George H. Bishop Lectures. The sketches depict portraits of unidentified men and women, including a few portraits of George and Ethel Ronzoni Bishop. Certificates include honorary memberships to scientific societies and a Doctor of Science degree certificate from Washington University. The glass slides depict saggital sections of the dorsal nucleus of the lateral geniculate body.
