Ledgers of patients seen by the x-ray service of the No. 12 General Hospital of the British Expeditionary Forces. Base Hospital 21 radiologist, Edwin Ernst, retained these records as management of the x-ray service passed to the American relief staff.
Base Hospital 21 Photographs and Drawings
This collection consists of 372 photographs, drawings, glass lantern slides, and realia, including a silver "mess cup" and two other silver cups won by the ROTC Medical Unit at Washington University. The objects in the collection depict scenes from Base Hospital 21 in Rouen, France, as well as reunions the members of Base Hospital 21 had many years later. Many of the photographs were originally bound in two albums, and the photographs remain mounted on the unbound album pages that include typed captions. Drawings include sketches of the Base Hospital 21 buildings and grounds, cartoons depicting life as a personnel member of Base Hospital 21, and watercolor sketches of fluoroscopic equipment invented and operated by Dr. Edwin C. Ernst. The majority of the drawings are now housed on glass lantern slides.

Washington University School of Nursing Photographs and Artifacts
This collection consists of 604 photographs and artifacts from the Washington University School of Nursing. The photographs are primarily group portraits and composite of various entering and graduating classes. Depicted subjects also include interior and exterior views of the school and the Nurse's Residence, including photographs taken for promotional materials. This collection also includes two student nurse uniforms, a nursing cap, and a flag commemorating the nurses who served with Base Hospital 21. This collection also includes a group of 35 mm slides that were shown at an alumnae reunion in 1995. This collection also includes a silver coffee urn presented to the School of Nursing by the class of 1929.
