The photograph is mounted to a piece of paper. Typed caption accompanying the photograph reads: "The office of Dr. T.S. Chapman who practiced in Oklahoma Territory at the end of the 19th Century. His office boasted an electric light, but also included such 'un-modern' things as a spittoon, a bowl-and-picture and the less than sanitary 'slop pail.'"
