Large print of the artwork "Bits of St. Louis" 1973.
Part of Index to Items in Map Case
This large print (21 inches height by 26 inches width) of the artwork titled "Bits of St. Louis" was created as a gift to distribute to all members of the Computer Visiting Group delegation from China who travelled to St. Louis in 1973. This piece of art was made by taking dozens of photographs of different shades of white, black, and gray. The artist then assembled the prints of the individual colors (“bits”) in such a way to depict the St. Louis skyline with the Gateway Arch and Old Courthouse prominently featured.
