Many of the photographs and all of the negatives depict unidentified men and women at meetings, conferences, and parties. Photographs also include group portraits with Ben H. Senturia, including groups at conferences, Senturia with classmates, and group portraits of Barnes Hospital medical staff. Artifacts include two human skulls, and a medal for a nasal speculum designed by Senturia.

The other photographs in the collection are primarily portraits of friends and colleagues of Schwartz, including Carl and Gerty Cori, Joseph Erlanger, Ernest Sachs, Sidney I. Schwab, and Evarts A.
