Papers from Jesse Ternberg's office: FC116 (Jessie L. Ternberg Papers) : 3 boxes. Box 1: correspondence and photographs from Dr. Ternberg's office on the 5th floor of Saint Louis Children's Hospital. Chiefly photographs, snapshots and portraits, of her patients and their families. Many of the snapshots and patient photos are unidentified and have been discarded. Box 2: Includes Dr. Ternberg's white coat, Babinski reflex hammer, solid brass paperweight commemorating the dedication of SLCH 1984, SLCH nametag button, specially made eyeglasses with magnifying lenses, and surgical instruments including two spoon shaped instruments custom made for Dr. Ternberg. Box 3: Consists of hanging file folders of reprints of her publications.

Subjects include the Frederick Ernst Baumgarten house and farm, the Gustav and Aminda Baumgarten house, civil war pictures of Gustav Baumgarten in uniform with other soldiers during the American Civil War.

This collection consists of 20 photographs, 2 buttons, and 3 proclamations highlighting the scientific achievements of Carl F. and Gerty T. Cori. The photographs primarily depict the Coris in laboratory settings or receiving honors and awards. The buttons were created to commemorate Gerty T. Cori's life and scientific achievements, and the proclamations are from the City of Glendale, MO; the City of St. Louis, MO; and the State of Missouri marking October 23rd as Gerty and Carl Cori day.

This collection consists of 31 photographs depicting scenes from the professional career of Helen B. Burch. The photographs primarily depict Burch and colleagues conducting research in the Philippines and Guatemala.

The collection consists of an unbound typescript manuscript, "History of dermatology in St. Louis, Missouri" (1973, 274 leaves) and a later bound version of the manuscript, "Dermatology and Dermatologists in St. Louis" ([1984], 372 leaves). The earlier version contains photographs, letters, clippings, and other documents. Both versions are indexed. Included are histories of the Barnard Free Skin and Cancer Hospital, the Barnes Hospital dermatology staff, and the St. Louis Dermatological Society, and biographical information about 19th and 20th century St. Louis dermatologists.

This small collection includes a presentation Dr. Hudgens gave during the Psychiatry Department grand rounds on October 24, 2000, titled "On the shoulders of giants, a tribute to Samuel B. Guze". An additional accession includes various items related to the School of Medicine student musical "New Facies of 1955" that was organized by the WUSM Class of 1956. Items include three 33 1/3 vinyl records recorded on April 16, 1955, a photograph of Dr. Hudgens singing during the musical, and song lyrics that have been edited by Dr. Hudgens. This collection also includes a brief typed description of Dr. Hudgens experience as a medical student at WUSM (1952-1956) written by Dr. Hudgens.

Early records on research include correspondence and laboratory and specimen notebooks, ca. 1955-1975. Later papers consist of correspondence, photos, NIH and tobacco grants, patents, lecture slides, reprints (including correspondence), newspaper articles, files on meetings, appointment calendars, reprints, and books.

The Lee Robins Papers consist of twelve organizational series on Lee Robins' research and her family.  The research studies (Series 1) and Interview schedules (Series 2) are the most noteworthy materials and the bulk of the collection.   Also included are family and professional photographs (Series 5), a full set of journal articles (Series 3), and her correspondence (Series 6-8) and manuscripts (Series 4) from her retirement.  Noteworthy in the biographical series (Series 9-10) are the SCRD oral history interviews with Lee Robins (also online) and typed interviews for a biography of Eli Robins.

Two of the photographs depict Washington University Medical Center buildings, including the Library and a view of Barnes Hospital and Queeny Tower from Forest Park.

This collection consists of 21 photographs, certificates, and artifacts from Robert C. Milburn, a graduate of Barnes Medical College in 1899. Photographs include group portraits with Milburn, including a composite portrait of Barnes Medical College class of 1899 and a tintype with Milburn and his partner Dr. J.A. Rea. Artifacts include clippings, a business card, a paperweight, a urinometer, and a surgical instrument kit.

This collection consists of 10 photographs, certificates, and plaques from the career of William H. Olmsted. The photographs are portraits of Olmsted, including a group portrait with other Barnes Hospital physicians. Certificates and plaques include awards and commemorations.

This collection consists of 10 portraits of Lee N. Robins.

This collection consists of 28 photographs depicting scenes from Valentina Suntzeff's professional career. Half of the photographs depict unidentified microscropic images, while the other half depict Suntzeff with her husband Alexander and her colleagues at Washington University School of Medicine.

This collection consists of 231 photographs and negatives depicting scenes from Wendell G. Scott's professional life. The majority of the photographs in the collection were taken by Scott himself, including many images of his Barnes Hospital colleagues at work, and views of sailors working and undergoing physical therapy at a U.S. Navy Hospital. Depicted subjects also include Scott and colleagues x-raying patients, group portraits with Scott at cancer research events, and views of Dr. John Sappington's historic house.

This collection consists of 83 photographs, negatives, and artifacts related to Ben H. Senturia. Many of the photographs and all of the negatives depict unidentified men and women at meetings, conferences, and parties. Photographs also include group portraits with Ben H. Senturia, including groups at conferences, Senturia with classmates, and group portraits of Barnes Hospital medical staff. Artifacts include two human skulls, and a medal for a nasal speculum designed by Senturia.
