Large print of the artwork "Bits of St. Louis" 1973.

This large print (21 inches height by 26 inches width) of the artwork titled "Bits of St. Louis" was created as a gift to distribute to all members of the Computer Visiting Group delegation from China who travelled to St. Louis in 1973. This piece of art was made by taking dozens of photographs of different shades of white, black, and gray. The artist then assembled the prints of the individual colors (“bits”) in such a way to depict the St. Louis skyline with the Gateway Arch and Old Courthouse prominently featured.

Schematic diagram representing Macromodular Simulation of the L-1.

This folder includes two copies of schematic diagram depicting Macromodular Simulation of the L-1. One is printed on paper, and the other is on mylar with gridlines. Both schematic diagrams are hand-drawn, and measure (22 inches height by 34 inches width). The information presented on both copies is very similar, but not identical. More detail is provided on the mylar copy.

Maps of St. Louis from the Journal of Public Health.

This folder contains three maps of St. Louis and two charts of schools in Lynn, Massachusetts. The two charts show the hygiene conditions and building qualities of each school in Lynn Massachusetts. They are undated but most of the schools were built near the end of the 19th century. The first map shows the location of the deaths from cholera in St. Louis in 1866. The second map shows the density of population of St. Louis in 1883. It lists the number of inhabitants as well as the number infected with cholera in each district. The third map shows the districts supplied with water-pipe and with sewers in 1884.

Similar to prints included with WUSM Bulletins circa 1915 with the additional caption identifying the houses used as Barnes Hospital's wards for African-American patients.
