The papers consist of three series: 1. General files, 1952-1973; 2. Letters from J.K. Parnas, 1932-1947; and 3. Reprints, 1911-1945. General Files contain bibliographies of Gerty Cori, letters to Herman Kalckar, and selected transcript including “This I believe, 1952”

The Cowdry papers consist of 74 document series of various lengths, most of which are on paper. The arrangement of the series reflect various phases, locales, and time periods of his long career. In terms of subjects, the collection concerns a variety of basic scientific and clinical areas, among them anatomy, cytology, gerontology, cancers, arteriosclerosis, leprosy, and yellow fever. There is an extensive array of important institutions that figure prominently in this collection: Peking Union Medical College, China Medical Board, Rockefeller Institute, American Society for the Aged, Carnegie Corporation, National Research Council, American Cancer Society, National Cancer Institute, International Cancer Research Council, International Union Against Cancer, American Association for Cancer Research, City of Hope Medical Center (Los Angeles), Tata Memorial Hospital (Bombay), International Association of Gerontology, International Gerontological Congresses, Gerontological Society, Bermuda Biological Station for Research, and the Institutum Divi Thomae Foundation. Of local interest there is material on Washington University School of Medicine administration, the Department of Anatomy and its Division of Cytology, Barnard Free Skin and Cancer Hospital, and Jewish Hospital of St. Louis. Formats of documents comprising the collection include correspondence, departmental records, notebooks, scrapbooks, manuscripts, certificates, photographs, and press clippings. In addition, certain series represent EVC’s complete short publications – papers on scientific topics for the most part – which were bound together in volumes at his request. EVC’s many monographic works and collaborative volumes under single titles are cataloged and stored separately from the collection, but citations to these works may be found in Series 1.

The Frank R. Bradley Papers cover the years from 1914 to shortly before his death and consist of nine series. A history of Barnes Hospital by Dr. Bradley is an important series in this collection. He died before completing his final revision of the manuscript. Also of interest is the series on the development and use of the airline-style food services for patients at Barnes Hospital. Dr. Bradley and Henrietta Becker, administrative dietician at Barnes, adapted the hot and cold food cases used to serve airline passengers for use in the hospital. This creative way to keep hot food hot and cold food cold and to control food handling and portion size through greater use of a central food preparation area aroused the interest of hospital administrators and dietitians nationwide. Bradley needed a form letter to reply to all those eager for information about the new-style food service.

Bernard Becker papers acquired by rare book librarian in Rare Book Accession 2008-001 and accessioned as Archives Accession 2010-004:
1) One bound volume of congratulatory letters given to Dr. Becker on the occasion of his 25th anniversary as chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, April 27th, 1979.

2) Two 5x7 inch silver gelatin photographs of the staff of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, the first dated circa 1954, the second dated circa 1979.
3) One pamphlet for the occasion of the 25th anniversary including a list of contributors toward an endowment fund in honor of Bernard Becker, April 27th, 1979.

Reprints, abstracts, research notes covering Burch's work in the fields of nutrition and metabolism. Correspondence files are arranged chronologically.

The Burford papers consist of six series. They contain information on chest and cancer surgery, other areas of surgical practice, the Washington University Department of Surgery, the university administration, the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and files gathered in tribute to Evarts A. Graham. The material includes correspondence, manuscripts, reports, reprints of articles, and films. The Library’s visual collections include photographs illustrating Burford’s career.

Sachs, Mary Koues. Forty-five flawless years. Edited correspondence of Ernest and Mary Koues Sachs, with commentary and supplementary documentation and photographs, 1913-1960. Four consecutively paged volumes. 954 p. [1964].

Correspondence, documents, and other materials from Donald C. Shreffler's term as Professor of Genetics and Chairman of the Department of Genetics.

The collection is comprised mostly of notes from meetings, drafts of publications, and correspondence. The files document DCS's research on the genetics of the immunologic system and the genetic basis of organ and tissue transplant rejections.

This small collection of correspondence has been arranged into one series that is organized alphabetically. All of the correspondence in this collection is from 1927-1930, when Dr. Scott was an assistant to Dr. Cowdry at the Rockefeller Institute of Medical Research and Assistant Professor of Cytology at Washington University. Subjects include yellow fever studies with E.V. Cowdry, papers in publication, Dr. Dean, and the Rockefeller Institute.

This collection predominantly consists of Dr. Terry’s professional correspondence.  There are multiple series of correspondence which have remained separated and in the same arrangement as they were received by Dr. Terry.  There are also a number of reprints and publications in this collection, most of which were authored by Dr. Terry.  Most of Dr. Terry’s reprints have been bound together and placed into Series 1.  Also of note in this collection are two different series of research notes and drafts of papers on Sprengel’s deformity and fluid in the lungs.

The Park J. White Papers contain correspondence and publications relating to his career in the Department of Pediatrics and his appointments at St. Louis Children's Hospital and Homer G. Phillips Hospital. Also included are his publications on politics, race relations, religion, and health; other scientific manuscripts and literary manuscripts, including works of poetry; and speeches and lecture material related to the course in medical ethics which he taught at the Washington University School of Medicine.

This small collection is primarily focused on Dr. Kerr's military service during WWII.

Accession 2017-037: William M. Landau Papers (FC119): 8 record cartons and 5 oversized framed items. Box 1-2, personal and professional correspondence, circa 1980-2010, Box 3, framed items, videos and audio recordings of lectures, Boxes 4-8 scientific equipment from Landau's and George Bishop's laboratories.

This small collection includes a few transcripts of speeches given by Dr. Landau at various meetings, reprints, and documentation regarding Dr. Landau’s role in PNHP in Missouri (Physicians for a National Health Program).  See also oral history numbers OH090 and OH107 for Dr. Landau's oral histories.

Scrapbooks compiled by Frank J. Lutz, 1876-1915, a volume called "Doctors registered with the Missouri Board of Health, and letters and reports concerning a proposed world medical conference to be held during the St. Louis Worlds Fair, 1904.

The scrapbooks document Lutz's professional life and interests in documents such as clippings, invitations, menus, letters, and certificates. In the scrapbooks are memorabilia of Lutz professional associations meetings and St. Louis medical schools and hospitals where he was on the staff or faculty. Newspaper coverage of physicians, medical matters, and medical societies, colleges, and hospitals is largely local but also national and international.

The collection is comprised primarily of correspondence regarding Minnich’s professional associations, though there is some representation of her personal correspondence. Of special note is the correspondence relating to her associations with Indonesian and Turkish laboratory personnel. Also included is material from Minnich’s membership in professional societies including their annual meeting programs and newsletters. The collection also includes parts of Minnich’s research including drafts of research articles, notebooks, photographic prints, contact prints, slides, graphs, and hand drawings of microscopic slides. Some of the documents in this series do not appear to be in alphabetical order, but they have been left in the original files.

This collection contains mostly correspondence and other materials related to Moore’s involvement with various committees and professional societies.  In particular, this collection highlights Moore’s work on anemia, iron deficiency, and nutrition.
