Roulhac, MC, in Freiburg, Germany. The Martinstor (or Martin's Gate) is visible behind them along Kaiser-Joseph-Straße. French troops had entered Freiburg on April 21, 1945. Photograph is dated May 1, 1945, one week prior to Germany's unconditional surrender. Whitemore, Crider, and Roulhac are standing on Kaiser-Joseph-Straße south of Rempartstraße while the photographer's view is to the north.
